Incorporated
in May 1974, the Corona-Norco Family YMCA ("Y")
is a non-profit community based organization that
operates a host of programs for children, families,
and the general community.
The
mission of the Y is: "To put Christian
principles of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
into practice through programs that build healthy
spirit, mind, and body for all." Through the
provision of services to the communities of Corona,
Norco, and some unincorporated areas of Riverside
County, the Y brings together the poor and not
so poor, young and old, men and women, and faiths
of all backgrounds.
The
Y provides a wide range of programs and activities
including, but not limited to inclusion preschool
and inclusion school age childcare; parent-child
programs, summer and holiday day camps; youth sports;
and self-defense lessons; resident camp; community
bingo; community service projects; teen center
programs; various educational classes; parent education
classes and various other activities and programs
throughout the year.
